Our Story
At Texas Russian Blue Kennel, we're all about the kittens, sure, but really, it's the people and the cats who've made this our whole world.
It all began more than ten years ago when we first laid eyes on a Russian Blue. That shimmering silver-blue coat, those big green eyes that look like they're smiling, and this calm, sweet vibe that just melted us. We were hooked instantly. Like, "Okay, this is it, this is the breed we're meant to be around." Little did we know, she'd end up flipping our lives upside down in the best way.
From there, we went full nerd mode: devouring books, chatting with long-time breeders, attending cat shows, the works. The more we learned, the more we fell in love with how smart they are, how loyal without being clingy, how they just quietly become your best buddy. We wanted to do this right: raise the healthiest, happiest Russian Blues possible, in a home where they get tons of love and real family life.
Fast forward to today, and our dream has become a reality. My name is Vani, and alongside my husband Peterson, we took the plunge and started our little family cattery right here in Galveston, Texas. What began as a "let's try this" idea turned into something so much bigger, a real family thing we do together. It's something we're incredibly proud of. We're parents to three amazing kids: two boys and a girl who love helping out, playing with the kittens, and learning about the care and dedication it takes to raise such special cats. We're a tight-knit family, and everything we do, raising our kittens and managing our cattery, always comes from a place of love, faith, and teamwork.
